Interview with Author Michael Poeltl by Aoife Marie Sheridan

Question: What have you published recently?

Her Past’s Present. A book which involves reincarnation and the relationships we make through time.

Question: How, and when, did you decide to become a writer?

I’ve written since I was a child and though studied art found telling stories is what I was meant to do. SO I’ve been writing since I was 10.

Question: Where can we find your published writing?

Amazon houses all of my works including the Apocalyptic trilogy The Judas Syndrome.

Question: What is a typical day like for you as a writer?

There are no typical days for me as a writer. I write on inspiration; scenes come to me and whether they’re meant to be part of what I am writing at the time or not they require my attention.

Question: What are your favorite characters that you have created? Tell us about them.

Tess is from my most recent work. She is a 27 year old married woman and a mom who goes through a break-up which is followed by a break-down. She is strong enough to know when she needs help and seeks it out. She is every woman and very relatable.

Question: do you find you “mentally edit” other writers’ works as you read them? Does doing this help you or bother you?

It’s always helpful to read. Especially genres you are writing at the time. I find I am able to enjoy another authors work while also learning from their successes and mistakes.

Question: What music do you listen to, while writing?

Often I listen to classical. I find it helps in the creative process. I will also listen to alternative music and can pull inspiration from lyrics.

Question: What do you eat while writing?

I find if I am in a writing trance that food is often overlooked. Food fuel is less important to me while writing than music or literature to feed my inspiration.

Five for Fun:

What is your favourite non-alcoholic drink?  Lemonade

What is your favourite cartoon character? Shaggy

What is your favourite movie of all time? Bladerunner

What do you like to do for fun or just to relax? Mountain biking
