Interview with Patricia C.Lee by Aoife Marie Sheridan

Question: What have you published recently? I released my second book in December of 2012 titled Destiny’s Present (Book 2 Daughters of the Crescent Moon) published by Crescent Moon Press

Question: How, and when, did you decide to become a writer? Since I was a teenager. But I didn’t actively pursue it until my mid to late twenties. I’d written short stories and plays in high school but it wasn’t until my best bud and I tried collaborating during one summer while sitting on her front steps late in the evening. Ever since then I’ve been pounding at the keys in some form or another.

Question: Where can we find your published writing? Both of my books (Destiny’s Pat and Destiny’s Present) are on Amazon and Barnes and Noble in both print and ebook format. Also, All Romance Ebooks has them and currently Destiny’s Past (Book 1 Daughters of the Crescent Moon) is available on Kobo Books. Hopefully Destiny’s Present will be available on that format soon.

Question: What is a typical day like for you as a writer? Well, working full-time tends to get in the way of writing, LOL! But I try and do some promotion in the morning before work and settle down to write in the evenings. However, sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. I do most of my writing on the weekend. And once a year I go on a self-inflicted writer’s retreat to a cabin on a lake that has no radio, phone, internet or TV – seven days of writing bliss.

Question: What are your favorite characters that you have created? Tell us about them. Kelly, the heroine of Destiny’s Past is my favorite. She’s a no nonsense corner’s intern that is strong but can be ruled by her compassion to help others. She also has a witty sense of humor. The other is her Aunt Vanessa. She is a minor character in the first book but I hope to see more of her in the third.

Question: do you find you “mentally edit” other writers’ works as you read them? Does doing this help you or bother you? Ever since my fabulous editor helped me in my first book, different forms of writing in the books I read have a tendency to stand out more. I find this a bit annoying so I have to concentrate of just getting into the book and not try and rewrite the sentence I just finished reading!

Question: What music do you listen to, while writing? Zero, nothing, nada. I CAN’T have any distractions when write, whether it’s music, noise, the hubby. I need almost total silence. When and if my husband needs to work around the house, I sequester myself in my office or bedroom and stick in earplugs!!

Question: What do you eat while writing? Boring but I don’t eat anything. I do, however, drink. Sometimes coffee or tea but usually a glass of red wine.

Five for Fun:

What is your favourite non-alcoholic drink?  Dark roast coffee (generally percolated) with cream

What is your favourite cartoon character? I’d have to say Bugs Bunny. Love his wit plus he thinks on his feet.

What is your favourite movie of all time? That’s a hard one because there are a few movies I really, really enjoy but I’d have to say “The Man From Snowy River.” Great cinematography and really good story.

What do you like to do for fun or just to relax? Reading (which is a no-brainer) but I also enjoy baking (and I’m usually listening to classical music or opera during that.

Question: Where can we find you on the web?
