Jon Blythe is sick of waiting for his Yoda. After years of hiding his magic, he's ready to retire from his mortal life, drop out of college, and jump into the world of demon hunters. He just didn't really expect a bleach blond bookstore clerk with light up toys for weapons. Unfortunately, Jordan is Jon's only hope. When rogue magic users come to Rochester with a malicious plan, the odd couple strikes out to save the day. Jordan might not be what Jon expected, but between demons and Econ homework, the demons win every time. Wild nights drag Jon further from normal into the world where his father vanished. Maybe he's becoming an addict. Maybe magic just comes with a price. Either way, he’s hooked.

Review of: High Summons
Rating: 4 stars
Reviewer: Lisa

I volunteered to review this book as part of the author's ARC program. This book had a slow start but it picked up speed for a fun read. Jon was a normal college student who had some special abilities. He went to an off-beat book store and met a teacher. Now fighting demons becomes Jon's forte. I look forward to a follow-up book(s) to see how Jon's training advances and to see if he ever meets his father. I loved this book. I want a flashing ball now.

Three things that amazed me about this book was firstly the world building ~ from the opening scene to the end the author has left me in awe of his skill to create unusual and magical places. I can’t find anything to compare it too, Lord of the Rings comes to mind initially but it is too bland compared to the world that Author Aaron Jam...
